Cooking Program for Men - By Peter Graben
Build your cooking confidence

ManChef offers cooking classes in their demonstration kitchen, which emulates a domestic kitchen not a professional one, so you can replicate methods of cooking and techniques at home in your own kitchen.

It's about the enjoyment of cooking - learning new skills, tips and chefs' secrets. Class sizes are small and participants usually work in groups of 4 or 5 Why not organize a group of friends and come along together!

ManChef offers a wide variety of classes to suit everyone, weekdays, evenings and weekends: please see our schedule page. Special classes for private groups, community organisations and corporate groups can also be arranged.

You never know what you might learn, or who you might meet at ManChef.

Build your confidence in the culinary arts with Peter.

ManChef has been developed to help men; women and children learn the foundations of becoming a good cook.

Oh no...not another corporate box!

When you've taken your clients to every sporting event, golf tournament or sit-down restaurant meal...why not mix, mingle and have fun by cooking together?

Forget forced conversations and awkward moments. The cooking provides the stimulus for chatting and getting to know each other, while you build sensational relationships as you create a fab meal to eat and enjoy together. High Fives all round!

It's also a fantastic way to celebrate the end of a project, get to know a new client, Christmas, Client Farewell etc.

  • Christmas Party - fabulous for avoiding a sit-down, ho hum restaurant meal and those endless attempts at making small talk at a cocktail party.
  • Increasing Client Spend or Conversion - several financial companies have invited their hot prospects & clients to a ManChef Cook-Up. An instant 'door opener' that was
  • successful for one company, they flew us to other cities to repeat the event.
  • Networking events - rather than have everyone stand around at a classic cocktail party, create extra sizzle with some simple cocktail food to prepare together.
  • Project Celebrations - Uh oh. Not the usual, er, um, inebriated bar extravaganzas? With a ManChef, they'll still drink and party, but the rewards for the business will be so much more.
  • New Client - Bond and create something fantastic together, to begin your working relationship on a positive and successful note.

Peter's Cooking Tips & Tricks

Cooling wine. To cool wine, or beer, or even bottled water quickly, quarter-fill an ice bucket (or similar-sized container - even a large saucepan will do) with ice, then sprinkle heavily with salt and top up to half-full with cold water from the sink. Dunk in the bottles to be cooled. The salt will reduce the temperature of the ice/water well below freezing - perhaps as much as five or six degrees - while the water allows close thermal contact with the glass/plastic.
